WEEK 1 IDEA

I chose the stationery store because it reminds me of the days when I used to write letters home while studying in the UK. Handwriting letters is very special to me; it adds an extra touch of emotion compared to typing. Every time I select a pen or paper, it's a moment of preparation to share my life with my family. The stationery store is the place that allows me to express these feelings. In short, it keeps me connected with my family, making the sentiment warm and genuine. And in the Victorian era, writing was an art form; letters and documents were handcrafted, often sealed with wax and a personal stamp, features unique to that time.

Imagine walking into a shop filled with wooden decor and a cozy ambiance, reminiscent of the Victorian era, yet with a touch of Harry Potter's magic. The shelves are stocked with various stationery items such as sealing wax and quill pens, items with a sense of age that hark back to the old ways of writing letters.

The decoration of the shop is meticulous too, featuring spiral staircases and delicate spires, hallmarks of the Victorian style, while the design of the chimneys is inspired by scenes from Harry Potter. As for lighting, candles and oil lamps provide a warm, antique feel to the store, complemented by some magical lighting effects, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.

The stationery store I envision is not just a place to buy stationery, but also a place where people can relax, read, and feel warmth. In essence, I want this stationery store to be a little haven filled with ample light and a cozy atmosphere, where both the sunlight during the day and the warm glow of the lamps at night make people feel as if they've returned to the comfort of their own home.Therefore, having plenty of windows is very important to me, as is having ample warm lighting.

My drafts don't contain many details; I intend to first sketch out the general shapes. As for adding details, I plan to refine while modeling, as this approach helps me clearly identify what is missing. Stairs are an element I must include in the exterior because they enhance the dynamism and sense of depth in a space. I've decided to first model the rough shapes of all the sketches before deciding on my final choice.
